I'm Allison (Ally) and I am the owner and founder of The Ville Crochet. The Ville started as a way to stay warm in the cold Ohio winters. What started as a hobby has turned into a huge passion and love for this business. It started as my creative outlet but it has grown to so much more than that. Years ago the desire to raise awareness and funds to end human trafficking was planted in my heart. With every fibre of my being (see what I did there) I want to see change in that industry in my lifetime. I was constantly looking for places I could volunteer or ways I could raise money to give to local non profits working to abolish modern day slavery. I hosted a garage sale fundraiser and did bake sales in efforts to make even the smallest difference. All the while I was practicing crocheting and getting down the basics. People always told me I should sell my items but it didn't really cross my mind that this could be my way to fill that desire in my heart. So with yarn in hand and the basics of crocheting down I started selling my finished crochet pieces to family and friends. I also started selling items at my parents flower shop, Villager Flowers. I view that as the place it all took off for me, people got to see my items and were reaching out to order. That is where my creativity all began and why I eventually decided to dedicate my business name to that time period. The Ville was created and from there it has all just been amazing. This business has never been about success or money for me, it has always been a way for me to be creative and raise money for an issue I care so deeply about. I am a huge dreamer and am constantly thinking about what I can improve on, where I can take this business and so on. I have big hopes for The Ville and want to keep allowing nature to inspire my pieces and to create from my heart. As long as I am doing that and giving all that can back, that would be success for me.
